In every Nutritional Therapy protocol I deliver is some version of this: check all personal & home care products & replace with safer versions. I recommend using The Environmental Working Group as a guide and wrote more about this subject here, back in 2014 (with updates): Hormones in our personal care products?

I am passionate about the health of this planet & every being in it. Many of the allowed chemicals in personal care products are harmful to us, acting as hormone disruptors, obesogens & more. These harmful chemicals are not only getting into our bodies through our skin, possibly creating havoc to our health, they also wash into our water supply, affecting ALL OF US. This is not okay.

Some years ago I was invited to a very powerful presentation sponsored by the Junior League of Portland. Lindsay Dahl of Beautycounter was the main speaker. Beautycounter (now COUNTER) is a personal care company committed to positive change. In the past, they had taken action in legislation on many environmental toxin issues, not just personal care. I resonate very deeply w/this for many reasons & envision myself joining their efforts in Washington, DC. As the new company, Counter, I am grateful to know that the brand remains committed to continued advocacy for safer beauty products.

I’ve been using Beautycounter (now COUNTER) for many years now and absolutely love how amazing and youthful my skin looks & feels! The combo of the brand’s mission, advocacy and education to get toxic chemicals out of our personal and home care products, plus their high performance products makes them a perfect part of my practitioner toolbox.

It was a no-brainer for me to join forces with Beautycounter years ago and will continue as a Brand Partner with Counter. I’d love to help you choose safer skincare and make up for yourself and your loved ones. I offer complementary 20-minute consultations, you can book here. Or you can enjoy shopping on your own here.
